How to choose ethical tools?
It is unlikely that a single ethical tool will suffice for a full ethical assessment of the whole range of divergent issues involved in the introduction and application of new technologies in agriculture and food production.
It has thus been necessary to develop an ethical toolbox rather than a single ethical tool, in which particular ethical tools find more appropriate application for certain purposes and/or certain contexts.
Four types of ethical tools are designed to facilitate ethical assessments. These ethical tools are
- the ethical matrix
- the ethical delphi
- the consensus conference
- the corporate moral responsibility kit
